Puppy Set – 5 Sessions (60-70 minutes each)

Puppy Set is designed to give you the tools and knowledge you need to start your journey with your new dog on the right foot. This set of sessions is ideal for those with puppies, and we’ll focus on building a solid foundation of socialisation, communication, and basic training.

Purpose of Puppy Set:

• Equip you with essential knowledge about your puppy’s needs.
• Guide you through the process of socialising your puppy.
• Introduce essential commands: Sit, Lie down, Stay, Recall, and more (based on your preferences).

Session Breakdown:

First Meeting:

• Knowledge: Puppy essentials – what your puppy needs to feel at home, including a shopping list and tips for settling in. We’ll also discuss breed-specific behaviours.
• Socialisation: Getting your puppy accustomed to household sounds like the hoover and hairdryer. Learn about sensitisation and how to avoid it.
• Training: Introduce Sit and Lie Down commands.

Second Meeting:

• Knowledge: Establishing good habits from the start – what your puppy learns now will carry into adulthood. We’ll discuss effective training methods and debunk “domination theory.”
• Socialisation: How to stimulate all of your puppy’s senses at home.
• Training: Focus on Stay and Recall—how to practice at home.

Third Meeting:

• Knowledge: How to play and work with your puppy. Introduction to canine body language.
• Socialisation: Strategies for socialising your puppy outside of the home.
• Training: Playtime! We’ll explore how different games (e.g., fetch, tug, Kong) affect your puppy’s emotions and behaviour.

Fourth Meeting (Includes a Walk):

• Knowledge: What makes a good walk? Understanding dog interactions and how to navigate them.
• Socialisation: We’ll go for a walk together to practice socialising outside the home.
• Training: Training in real-life situations—outdoor challenges and opportunities.

Fifth Meeting (Includes a Walk):

• Knowledge: Understanding canine body language—what your body says to your dog, and how to support them in the right moments.
• Walk: How to walk your dog correctly on the lead, how to pass other dogs, and best practices for recall.

The sessions are limited to theoretical lessons. Each session lasts approximately 40-45 minutes.
